Bourbon Bacon Jam Chicken Wings

Bourbon Bacon Jam Chicken Wings

Directions

  1. Preheat your grill to 350° F and add in cherry wood for a sweet, smokey flavor. 

  2. Separate the drums and flats by cutting the wings at the knuckle.

  3. Use Bachan’s as a binder, then season the chicken wings with salt, pepper, garlic powder and add in cornstarch to help crisp up the skin.

  4. Grill wings indirectly at 350F for 1 hour, flipping them half way through. 

  5. Make the Bacon Jam: Slice up 1 lb of bacon, cook until it starts to crisp up then remove bacon. Sauté 1 large diced onion for 15 minutes in 1 tbsp of bacon grease.  Add 3 cloves of garlic for the last 5 minutes. 

  6. Add bacon back in with 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup maple syrup, ¼ cup Bachan’s Hot & Spicy barbecue Sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 4 oz Bourbon and cook for 5-10 mins until it thickens.

  7. Finish wings over direct heat flipping them every 2 minutes. 

  8. Remove them once they reach an internal temperature of 190°F .

  9. Put the wings in a bowl, add in the bacon jam and mix thoroughly.

  10. Serve and enjoy
