Marinated Beer Brats

Directions

1. Marinate the brats and onion slices in the beer and Bachan’s Japanese Barbecue Sauce for a minimum of 1 hour and up to overnight.

2. Transfer the brats, onion, and marinade to a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the brats are cooked through.

3. Using tongs, transfer the brats to a plate to drain, then transfer the onions to a small bowl. Set aside. Discard the marinade.

4. Grill the brats on an outdoor grill or fry in a hot cast iron pan until browned on all sides, 1-2 minutes.

5. Serve on a freshly toasted bun with your favorite stone ground or dijon mustard of choice, topped with the marinated onions.

Bachan'sThe OriginalBold, fresh and filled with umami flavor.

The one that started it all, the O.G. Japanese Barbecue Sauce – bold, savory-sweet, and so authentic, it should be notarized. Our crave-worthy flavors come from traditionally brewed soy sauce, mirin, ginger, garlic and green onion– only clean, simple ingredients.

Growing up, my bachan (aka granny) would cook up the most amazing meals with our family’s sauce. Now, we are honored to share this multi-generational recipe with you. Let’s eat! Itadakimasu!
