Sweet Honey Chicken Yakitori

Directions

1. In a bowl, combine 2 tbsp Bachan’s Sweet Honey Barbecue Sauce and neutral oil. Add the chicken, making sure to coat all the pieces evenly. Let marinate for 1 hour. If using wooden skewers, soak the wood skewers in water while the chicken is marinating.

2. Skewer the marinated chicken on to skewers with 4-6 pieces of chicken per skewer. Discard the marinade.

3. Heat the grill to medium-high heat and brush lightly with oil. Grill the yakitori chicken skewers, flipping as needed, until cooked through and slightly charred, about 3-4 minutes for chicken breast and 6-8 minutes for chicken thighs.

4. Brush the remaining 2 tablespoons of Bachan’s Sweet Honey Barbecue Sauce onto the hot skewers, then top with sesame seeds and green onions, if using. Enjoy immediately.

Our Sweet Honey Japanese Barbecue Sauce is made with honey but that doesn't mean it's all sweet and innocent. The honey makes the umami flavor hit harder. The soy, ginger, and green onion pop. Our crave-worthy flavor always comes from simple, clean ingredients.

Growing up, my bachan (aka granny) would cook up the most amazing meals with our family's sauce. Now, our multi-generational family recipe has inspired the Japanese flavors and ingredients featured in all of our sauces. Let's eat! ltadakimasu!
