Gluten Free Chicken Karaage

Directions

Chicken

  1. Cut chicken thighs into 2" pieces.

  2. Marinate chicken in Gluten-Free Original Bachan's for 2 hours minimum.

  3. Coat marinated chicken in potato starch, knock off excess potato starch, and place chicken on a rack. Let sit covered and refrigerated for 30 minutes or until potato starch is mostly absorbed and no longer white.

  4. Heat a neutral cooking oil to 350 degrees. Fry chicken pieces for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Do not overcrowd the pan, and remove fried particles between batches. 

Dipping Sauce

  1. Add Kewpie Mayo to a bowl.

  2. Grate garlic and green onion, add to mayo.

  3. Zest the lemon, cut in half and squeeze juice, adding to mixture.

  4. Add Bachan's and coarse ground pepper, stir to combine.

  5. Serve with chicken and enjoy!

• 2lb Chicken Thighs
• Gluten-Free Original Bachan's - enough to marinate chicken thoroughly
• 1 1/4 Cup Potato Starch
• 8 Cups Neutral Cooking Oil

 

Mayo Dipping Sauce
• 1 Cup Kewpie Mayonnaise
• 1 1/3 Tbsp Grated Garlic
• 1/2 Tbsp Grated Green Onion
• 1 tsp Lemon Zest
• Juice of 1 whole Lemon
• 1/2 Tbsp Gluten-Free Original Bachan's
• 3 Seeded and chopped Hawaiian Chili Peppers (or similar hot pepper)
