The Aquarium of the Pacific is Southern California’s largest aquarium. It displays about 12,000 animals and more than 100 exhibits that celebrate the planet’s largest and most diverse body of water, the Pacific Ocean.

A real
life octo encounter

The giant Pacific octopus is the largest octopus species, reaching a whopping 16 feet and 110 lbs, but because it has no bones, it can still squeeze its body through tiny spaces only a few inches in diameter! They live in the temperate waters of the Pacific Ocean from Southern California, all the way to Japan. They intelligently use their 2,000+ suction cups on their arms to not only hold onto their food, but to taste it as well.
