What do you love most about working with Bachan’s?

Bachans is very nostalgic for me and reminds me of my Grandma (Bachan) when I cook with it, especially when making spam musubi. The flavors are unique and irreplaceable. I also love the variety of each sauce; you can add it to any dish, and it will never disappoint.

Do you have any fond memories of family meals/cooking growing up? 

Family parties were always the best memories growing up. We have a fairly large family, and every year, New Year's Day has been my favorite because of all the food and tradition! I always look forward to it.

How does Bachan’s inspire you to make the dishes you do with it?

I love recreating dishes from my childhood, but one thing I particularly enjoy is taking leftovers and creating entirely new dishes, a skill I picked up from my Dad.

If you could only pick 1 main dish and 1 side dish to eat at a summer BBQ what would they be? 

This is a hard one, but I would say chicken katsu and baked beans. 

What is your favorite Bachan’s Flavor?  Is there any particular reason why that’s your favorite?

My favorite Bachans flavor is Miso. I absolutely love miso in general and use it frequently in my cooking, so having a sauce that already incorporates it is just perfect!

What are your favorite things to do with Bachan’s sauces?

Obviously, I love cooking with the sauces (like Spam musubi, stir fry, eggs, salmon, teriyaki burgers, chicken, etc.), but I especially love sharing the sauces with people! Seeing their reactions after tasting it for the first time and the joy it brings is priceless.

Can you tell us why you’re drawn to working with us and what you appreciate most about Bachan’s as a company and a brand?

What drew me towards Bachan's and what I appreciated the most about the company was that it is their Grandma's recipe. It is extremely nostalgic for me and immediately reminded me of when I could cook with my Grandma and how her recipes are ones that I will always remember. My grandparents have always been one of my favorite memories growing up, and I was lucky to have many years with them.
